Community First Credit Union Opens Murabella Branch
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 3, 2024 – Community First Credit Union has opened its newest expansion branch located in Murabella in St. Johns County. The branch is at 5360 State Road 16 in the Mill Creek retail development and is the credit union’s 22nd branch in the region. The credit union purchased the 1.23-acre site in 2023 and built a freestanding location. Community First will hold a grand opening June 3 through 8. More details are available here.
The Murabella branch is part of the credit union’s Branch Transformation Project, which aims to enhance member service by configuring spaces to create a modern retail experience. The Murabella branch will be Community First’s second location in St. Johns County with a third under construction in Beachwalk. Community First has served members in the county with branch services for over 23 years.
“The Murabella community is in need of financial services where they live,” said John Hirabayashi, CEO and president of Community First. “We are thrilled to open this branch in Mill Creek, which residents are depending on to meet daily retail and other service needs.”
The Murabella Branch is 3,000 square feet and features a full-service drive-thru, two ATMs (drive-up and walk-up), and Community First’s signature tower feature.
Designed with Community First's modern branch concept, the Murabella branch has an open floor plan, upgraded digital technologies, and a historical mural depicting the history of the Murabella/World Golf Village area. There are nearly 2,000 Community First members living within five miles of the shopping center.
Community First is undertaking its largest one-time investment in its branch network with five expansion branches in the works or newly opened. In addition to the new Murabella Branch, the credit union recently opened its 20th branch at Northpoint Village and its 21st branch at Boulevard Crossing, both in Jacksonville. Community First has a new location in development in St. Johns in the Beachwalk community. It also announced on May 31 it has closed on land for its Callahan Branch, which will become its 24th branch and second in Nassau County when it opens in 2025. It is also building a new location for its Baymeadows Branch in Southside Quarter on Gate Parkway.
